Fresh from the BIM Track factory, we’re happy to introduce major and minor time-saving features: because it all adds up! BIM Track is now happier than ever handling heavy models, can measure in a snap, plays nicely with Revit & Navisworks 2019, and more:
Major optimizations for large models
We’ve done quite a bit of work on the back end to make sure that BIM Track’s web viewer can handle larger models much more efficiently. For example, repeating geometries used to exponentially expand model size. These multiple geometries are now only loaded once in the memory so large models load significantly faster.
Measure in a snap
You can now snap to edges or corners while in measure mode in BIM Track’s web viewer. This handy little feature will give you precise measurements, and save time previously spent trying to get the aforementioned precise measurement. You can also adjust the snap radius to your preference. For more on measuring in BIM Track’s web viewer, check out our help article.
Revit & Navisworks 2019 compatibility
We’re happy to share that shortly after the releases were announced, BIM Track’s add-ins are now compatible with Revit 2019 and Navisworks 2019. We recommend “re-downloading” your add-ins from the BIM Track app (General menu / Download add-ins). This is always the most up to date location.
IFC element property URLs
When you select an element in the model, its’ properties and attributes are visible. It’s a great practice for manufacturer URLs to be placed within an element’s properties. URLs are now supported in the BIM Track web viewer for IFC element properties.
If you have any questions on these new features, or any existing ones, please reach out to our support team online or in the chat portion of the BIM Track platform.
