What’s new in BIM Track - Release 5

Check out what’s new in release 5 of BIM Track, including BCF 2.1 compliance, default quick filters, element isolation, and restore view state feature in the 3D viewer. If you are using an add-in, please make sure to install the latest version to take advantage of these changes.

New features include:

BCF schema 2.1

Following Building Smart’s open standard evolution, BIM Track is proud to support BCF schema 2.1. with this release. As a reminder, BCF files from the following vendors (and anyone who can export BCF files!) can be imported into your BIM Track projects: Aconex, ARCHICAD, DDS-CAD, Solibiri, Tekla BIMsight, Trimble Novapoint & Vectorworks.

Default quick filter for the issue list in 3D viewer

Can now create personalized quick filters to have issue attributes filled in automatically in the 3D viewer. Default quick filters can be used project-wide, saving significant time selecting the issue attributes individually.

To learn more about how to use the quick filter in the 3D viewer, please check out our tutorial.

Isolated elements in 3D viewer

Selecting objects before creating an issue has always been possible in Revit and Navisworks. Selected objects and / or clashing objects relating to that issue can now be shown live in the web viewer, instead of showing the whole area.

To learn more about how to isolate elements in the 3D viewer, please check out our tutorial.

Restore view state in 3D viewer

The “Restore view state" option was added, giving you the ability to recover the context of the issue that was used to publish it, including both the elements visibility and section box / plane. When you publish an issue, the view state is automatically saved. So when another user wants to recover the original context of the issue, it can be done within a few clicks.

To learn more about how to restore the view state in 3D viewer, please check out our tutorial.
