Whether it’s a client that’s stuck on a problem or one of our own team members, Tommy goes to the ends of the earth to help solve your problem. And chances are good you’ll be better informed for it, with a smile on you face at the end.

to describe your role?
Support: external and internal.
What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
Each day is very different; I respond to problems whether they are internal or external, updating articles, being up to speed on releases and beta builds, making sure all procedures are followed, and, most importantly, that all BIM Track users are taken care of. What I like about dealing with our users, is that they each have their unique challenges. I try to go outside of my comfort zone and provide the most detailed support possible, which can include a lot of research. BIM is evolving rapidly, and sometimes there is no easy solution. I believe it’s important to put a little bit of ourselves into every issue instead of saying “not my job”...which is kind of the idea of OpenBIM: we have to have workable solutions. The line doesn’t stop anywhere. I try to put myself in the clients’ heads, see what their potential issues might be, and help them understand the larger picture. I also share feedback on the convenience and user-friendliness of our software with the dev team.
What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
Usually I am still mulling over the day’s problems, especially if I haven’t been able to resolve one satisfactorily! It bugs me until I do. I do try to maintain a healthy distance from work but it’s easier said than done. Music helps!
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
I would say my biggest achievement is to have kept myself thirsty for learning new things! Not a day goes by without reading up on new technologies, science, culture, etc. It definitely takes me some motivation at times but ever since I was young, I've been able to find that motivation about learning new things and challenging myself.

What are you passionate about?
I consider myself a bit of an audiophile. I really enjoy studio engineering and mastering, with my own mini-studio at home. I also play the drums, the piano, bass, trumpet and tuba, and I enjoy pretty much every genre, from acoustic to dance.
What do you like best about working at BIM Track?
The openness of the team and its’ founders is pretty remarkable. When you have a good idea, the team makes it happen quickly. Just like all ideas are given respect internally, we value our clients’ ideas and are very open (and just as reactive) to development suggestions. All days are different, which I really enjoy. I am someone who LOVES learning. I like to surprise the programmers with some of my research. I’m a very curious guy and I feel that I fit in well here.
I also have to mention how much I owe Alain Bolduc. His knowledge and patience really helped me get to where I am today.
