The term “private information” includes your name, first name, address, email address, or any additional personal detail about you as well as any plans, images, photographs, annotations, comments or any other information regarding projects uploaded or created on BIM Track®.
BIM One automatically collects general information about your BIM Track® usage. That information can include your computer’s IP address, your internet provider’s IP address, the web browser used to gain access to BIM Track®, the date and time of the access to BIM Track®, the operations carried out while on BIM Track®, the web parameters of the pages you consulted on BIM Track®, the time spent navigating on each page and, if applicable, the content you uploaded from BIM Track®. This automatically collected information is used to help improve BIM Track®. It can also be used for marketing, managing BIM Track® and its system resources or other administrative purposes. BIM One may use all general information collected automatically to create BIM Track® usage summaries. BIM One uses “cookies”, which are small files containing data that are transmitted to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive to keep track of your BIM Track® usage and to ensure your security at the user-authentication level. All the information gathered from the cookies is used to facilitate the usage of BIM Track® and to improve the user-authentication functionality when users access their account. Most browsers will allow users to disable cookies stored on their computer’s hard drive. Disabling cookies (which is not recommended) may prevent you from accessing or using BIM Track® or may create some vulnerability in your data security.
The security of our users’ information is a priority for BIM One. BIM One has adopted and implemented mechanisms as well as physical and technological measures to protect your personal information and safeguard its confidentiality. BIM Track® encrypts all communications by using SSL data encryption protocol and standard security systems for private networks. SSL protocol is used to reduce the risk of anyone intercepting or eavesdropping on your personal information while it is being transmitted over the Internet onto our servers. Your information is decrypted only when it is delivered to BIM One’s servers. The information that you provide is backed up and stored in locations where access to your information is controlled. Our online platform is supported by SSL’s secure server environment. In addition, a user can chose to retain full control of his data by hosting BIM Track® directly on his server. BIM One agrees to use all reasonable means necessary at all times to prevent the disclosure of any personal information that BIM One has on its users (excluding all legal obligations).
In spite of all the measures put in place by BIM One and described above, it is impossible to guarantee that the transmission of data on the Internet is done in a secure manner. BIM One does not guarantee or represent that the personal information you provide will be transmitted securely, or that it will be fully protected against interception, loss, misuse or alteration. BIM One assumes no obligation or liability for any damage resulting from the unsecure transmission, interception, loss, misuse or alteration of the personal information you send.
Subject to legal obligations, BIM One will not sell to any third party the right to use the private information of its users. BIM One will not disseminate any of its users’ confidential information without their consent.
