Job Description

The Business development manager will be responsible for growing BIM Track sales on an international scale, focusing primarily on Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Europe. With BIM Track, the BDM has a broad role from lead generation to Account management. Experience in solution-selling software technology, SaaS, or AEC-related solutions is a must.

The BDM collaborates with the rest of the sales team to ensure the success of the company, by sharing strategies, contacts and information. The BDM is an experienced salesperson focussed on finding the right client for BIM Track and growing business relationships. Supported by marketing, account executives and other Business development managers, the BDM embodies core collaboration and performance values. Working from a home office is required for this position excepted if the BDM is located close to one of the company offices. The perfect candidate has a self-starting, winning attitude and team spirit. By being a great listener, the BDM can craft the best strategies to help our customers deliver better construction projects.


  • Promote BIM Track solutions and services to attract qualified lead accounts
  • Plan and manage business development activities using a collaborative multipoint strategy in order to acquire new clients.
  • Identify and target new prospects each week using various communication strategies.
  • Lead generation through appropriate propositions, cold calling and ethical sales methods.
  • Build a network through LinkedIn and other platform to support pipeline generation
  • Update the CRM (Salesforce) or any other database, to support teammates and to ensure follow-ups are conducted accurately and on time
  • Develop client relationships with new and current clients and provide exceptional customer service
  • Coordinate meetings with prospects and BIM Track support team (Product experts and Customer Success)
  • Deliver BIM Track overview sales and technical presentations
  • Manage referring and reselling partner relationships
  • Handle and process new opportunities
  • Grow and renew existing accounts
  • Constantly improve knowledge of BIM Track, the industry and its stakeholders
  • Achieve monthly & quarterly performance metrics


  • Clear written and verbal English is a must. Fluency in French or other language an asset
  • Previous experience in the construction industry and software sales
  • 5+ years or more of proven sales experience in B2B
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to overcome objections
  • Data-driven. Process and detail-oriented
  • Ability to stay motivated on a daily basis while pacing monthly and quarterly metrics
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to plan multi-penetration strategies across multiple accounts
  • Able to travel for work occasionally around the world
  • Although being remotely located, maintain a positive attitude and set an example of professionalism and teamwork for other employees
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Computer skills - Familiar with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word and an above average utilization of Excel and CRM software
